The Team

We are seeking a Puerto Rico based Operations Site Lead to join American Tower’s U.S. Tower division’s Network Operations department.  Operations Site Leads are American Tower’s frontline representation in the field with customers, vendors and landowners, and support both the Network Operations department and various interdepartmental objectives. Day to day you will collect data from assigned telecommunications assets while maintaining high standards of data quality.  You will use multiple methods for data collection, including unmanned aircraft systems (“UAS”).  As an Operations Site Lead, you will partner cross-functionally to manage maintenance and repairs within a geographic area for all asset types, including towers, rooftop installations, fiber-based networks, and generators.

What You Can Offer Us


  • Perform routine site audits on assets in an assigned area/zone and in an efficient and cost-effective manner, utilizing UAS and other data collection tools.

  • Ensure all assets in an assigned area/zone meet safety, compliance, and asset integrity standards through implementation of the Company’s Standard of Care and other management policies by identifying and documenting discrepancies and following through on needed remediations.

  • Effectively engage with customers and vendors to manage projects, ensuring timelines and safety standards are met during pre-construction meetings and post-construction site walks and when gathering and processing closeout data for customer construction and internally generated projects.

  • Meet customer service level agreements obligations when responding to issues affecting the Company’s back-up generators and fiber-based networks or when responding to other types of critical events.

  • Approximately 75% of the time the role will be performed outside of a conventional office environment, traveling in a Company-owned vehicle to assigned assets.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need to Succeed


  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Spoken and written fluency in Spanish and English required.

  • Minimum 2 years of telecommunications or related experience required.

  • Must be at least 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license and a demonstrated safe driving record, and be able to travel extensively by car or truck.

  • Must have, or within a year of hire obtain, FAA Part 107 Certification to operate UAS.

  • Vendor management, real-estate management, or a civil construction experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of radio transmitters, receivers, antennas, radio frequency, wireless, or ethernet backhaul preferred.

  • Ability to use discretion when setting priorities and resolving issues in accordance with Company best practices and standards.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to use additional Company software applications.


  • While performing the role, you will need to lift as much as 60 lbs. and traverse developed and undeveloped construction sites.

  • Approximately 40% overnight travel may be required to support the position’s responsibilities.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively.

  • Ability to work with different functional groups and levels of employees to effectively and professionally achieve results.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to accomplish multiple tasks within the agreed upon timeframes through effective prioritization of duties and functions in a fast-paced environment.
