Job Description:

SUMMARY & SCOPE:   Responsible for running different machines and equipment when needed.  Also must be able to float from running machines to blasting when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Select specific raw materials for the production of pressure vessels and ensure that materials meet job requirements.


• Load and unload materials into machines and adjusts machine for specific jobs including choosing correct jigs, saws, and machines.


• Maintain safe working practices for machine operating applications.


• Properly complete all paperwork associated with machine operating activities and input data into the computer.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job routings.


• Material handling – operation of cranes, hoist, and forklifts when necessary.  Also successfully complete any training/safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.


• Responsible for the blasting of raw materials, and finished products, blackjack, or metallic grit.  The blaster prepares a variety of parts for painting or assembly by grit blasting.


• Stripping of materials using grit, aluminum oxide or other media on tanks and other parts by directing flow of girt on metal parts to remove sand, rust and dirt.

EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:

Successfully be trained on the machines to be operated using the equipment below:

• Break Press


• Band Saw


• Data Plate machine

• Respirator and blasting hood. Respiratory must be medically cleared.


• Basting equipment, blower, shaker, and various related machinery.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.


• Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.  

• Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.

• Must have a basic understanding of computers.


• Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.


• Must be able to read blue prints.


• Good communication skills.


• Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.
