About the Role

This role will lead our Inclusion and Diversity (I&D) employee communications efforts, crafting and executing campaigns and events and supporting the deployment of I&D programs. Our I&D efforts are built around four key areas: Advocacy, Inclusion, Equity and Community. This individual will need to work across all these areas to design and deliver comprehensive communications that advance our goal of being unconditionally inclusive. The individual will also partner our I&D Council, which is led by our CEO, to push the “creative envelope” and bring bold, new thinking to engaging key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is experienced in leading large-scale communications programs, and has worked in the inclusion and diversity space. The candidate should be team player and relationship builder, with exceptional writing and project management skills. To excel in this position, you must be able to “connect the dots” as a strategic thinker, and be willing to roll up your sleeves to execute. The role will report to the Director of Team Member Communications and Experience, and work closely with the Chief Diversity Officer and the HR I&D team and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  


  • Work across teams to build a comprehensive inclusion and diversity employee communications and engagement strategy and execution plan

  • Create comprehensive employee campaigns focused on driving understanding and action around advocacy and courageous conversations

  • Act as a strategic communications advisor to our Chief Diversity Officer, I&D Council, I&D team in HR, and other stakeholder groups across HPE

  • Maintain I&D calendar of communications, events and activities to ensure the right cadence and proper timing  

  • Bring bold, innovative ideas that help advance a culture of inclusion

  • Execute key communications deliverables including videos, written articles and thought pieces, infographics, tools and resources, etc.

  • Lead the development of a quarterly video to update team members on I&D effort, metrics and upcoming programs/ events

  • Partner with Employee Resource Groups (e.g., Young Employee Network, Black Employee Network, Veteran’s Network, and more) to develop and advise on execution of their signature events throughout the year.

  • Ensure I&D narrative is pulled through all internal communications and deliverables

Education and Experience


  • BA or BS in Communications or similar

  • 7- 10 years of experience in employee communications, or similar

Knowledge and Skills


  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of employee communications methodologies, tools and vehicles.

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable with ambiguity and “connecting the dots” across teams and leaders.

  • Comfortable and confident to provide consultative skills to all levels, including executives.

  • Strong team player with excellent listening and interpersonal skills, and capable of working across teams to build consensus.

  • Thrives in environments that encourage creativity and bold thinking.

  • Advanced writing and storytelling skills

  • Strong organization and program management skills

  • Experience in change management and corporate culture is a plus
