As the Admissions Nurse, you will be responsible for the admission process, conducting tours for prospective clients, and assisting with other customer service items. You will also use your Nursing and Leaderships skills to ensure that quality nursing care is provided to the residents and you will direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants. Duties may also include meeting with assigned nursing staff and support personnel to plan the shifts' services, programs, and activities.
Greet residents and families upon arrival to Marquis Companies and answering any questions or concerns they may have.
Cond ucts tours of facility for prospective residents.
Escort the resident and family to the resident's room.
Obtain resident's current weight and pain assessment, and complete POLST if needed.
Complete admission notes: level of care, cognitive status, vaccination history, and transfer ability, level of assist required, lung sounds, bowel tones, edema, vital signs, and height.
Complete all necessary forms for admission, assists patients and families in utilization of community resources and placement options within their community.
Educate and instruct Aides, caregivers and family members on patient's care
Increases referrals by consistently identifying new referral sources, developing individual marketing plans that increase referrals from each identified referral source with the Admissions Coordinator.
Complete discharge paperwork for residents leaving facility.
Maintains strong working relationships with other staff members throughout the facility.
Instills confidence in the resident by performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
Perform other duties that may be assigned.
You will receive excellent, hands-on training to learn Marquis nursing systems and procedures. Our organization also uses an electronic medical records (EMR) system and you will receive intense training to use the EMR.
Required Experience:
At least 2 years working experience as a Nurse.
1 Skilled Nursing and/or Community Based Care Nursing experience is required.
