The Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) team is an independent second line of defense unit that proactively identifies potential operational risks throughout the Firm. Our Operational Risk Management team is committed to being a world-class leader in risk management, maintaining a system of strong controls, providing guidance and clear direction on key principles and proactively managing risks to guard against financial loss or other damages. Working with business owners and Controls teams, this role will help execute the firm's Operational Risk Management framework by independently assessing risks facing the business.

This position will introduce and execute the CCOR and operational risk program for the newly acquisitioned Travel & Loyalty business within Consumer and Community Banking. The new entity includes a travel agency, gift card, merchandise and points bank businesses. The role is highly visible to senior management offers the opportunity to build out an operational risk management program for a non-bank entity. To be successful in this role, you will require knowledge of operational risk and key risk management skills, along with an ability execute on a broad book of work including creation and oversight of operational risk testing requirements.

In this role you will:

• Manage the CCOR Framework objectives and requirements.

• Be a trusted advisor and leverage subject matter knowledge to drive value added dialogue and informed risk based decisions.

• Analyze risk concentration areas, risk profiles, and synthesize data from internal and external sources in order to complete the Independent Second-line Risk Assessment (ISRA) in accordance with the CCOR Program.

• Leverage results from ISRA to develop and execute monitoring activities, provide guidance to the CCOR Testing team for testing activities in accordance with the CCOR Monitoring and Testing Standard.

• Identify and assess severity and impacts of issues for potential escalation to senior Business and Risk Executives in accordance with the Operational Risk Issue Management Standards.

• Assess and manage follow-up on key risks associated with new business initiatives and change management activities.

• Understand the risk profile as assessed by the business (CORE), key risk & performance indicators, and other controls to identify negative trends and potential control gaps.

• Maintain awareness of risk and control issues within the business whether identified by the business, second-line, internal audit or regulatory examiners.

• Review internal and external operational risk events for opportunities to challenge where new preventive and detective controls could be implemented.

• Evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of existing controls and provide business direction on opportunities for improvement.

• Foster effective partnerships and collaborate with business and Control partners.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Bachelor's degree or related field; or equivalent work experience required.

• Extensive operational experience in risk management (financial services environment preferred) or travel & loyalty industry; candidates typically have 5+ years' experience related experience.

• Highly disciplined, able to make independent decisions and work with limited supervision while exceling in a dynamic, demanding environment.

• Experience in leading and delivering cross-functional initiatives, with the ability to collaborate with business and functional experts to provide risk assessment guidance, recognize risks and design enhancements.
