The Product Marketing Manager, Engineered Products is responsible for the lifecycle of the product from concept to obsolescence, develops and implements product management and marketing strategies to achieve sales, profitability and customer service goals for the Engineered Products Business Unit.  


This role is intended to work globally with customers, sales, world area marketing, and engineering to manage the lifecycle of the current products, define and develop new products, product modifications, and buyout strategies to increase market share and expand into new markets.

 AS A PRODUCT MARKETING MANAGER, YOU WILL: 

  • Complete / use market research to understand local and global market requirements in terms of technical requirements, Lead-Time, cost, and pricing to develop product definitions to guide the new product development process (NPD). Work with engineering to ensure products meet the market needs.
  • Manage global product portfolio strategy; analyze local and global market requirements, global sales, units, Lead-Time, profitability and relative price position formulating product plans to control and coordinate product parameters designed to increase sales volume and profitability throughout the product lifecycle.  Implement actions via world area functional organizations.
  • Develop business cases to prioritize new product development and product portfolio plans.
  • Conduct competitive analysis; determine market sizes, segmentation, market share, features and benefit differentiation.
  • Identify modifications to existing and new product requirements through global customer interviews, sales interviews, conjoint analysis, survey customer councils, competitive analysis, global standard development and trends.
  • Able to effectively work in a team and cooperative environment.
  • Develop and execute product launch plans and product promotion/advertising, including customer value messaging, supporting literature, sales strategies, and sales training to achieve project financial goals.
  • Define the MARCOM requirements as part of the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, customer value message, and target customers.
  • Serve as the internal and external champion for the product offering, provide technical and product strategy assistance for global sales team.
  • Work with OPS to adjust inventory and product production levels based on the market demand.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • B.S. Engineering or B.B.A Marketing and a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Experience in process engineering, sales, or marketing is required.
  • Engineering background needed to investigate and develop customer application/product needs, conduct competitive analysis, develop product specifications and general product improvements consistent with market needs.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% annually, domestic and international travel (post COVID restriction).

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  
  • MBA is preferred.
