Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Pharma Operator I to join our Health and Wellness business at our Paterson, NJ. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Manufacturing function. This position will report to Production Supervisor.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Transfer powder to various intermediate containers through milling equipment, sifters, sieves, or other processing steps 


• Ability to load and operate a tumble blender


• Accurately record required and relevant information on incoming, in process, and finished goods paperwork


• Transfer finished material into final finished good packaging and apply appropriate and accurate labels and weight stickers


• Promptly report equipment breakdown or unusual operating conditions to Supervisor


• Ability to use approved chemicals to disassemble and clean all production equipment as well as site surfaces (floors, doors, etc.)


• Prepare and stage materials for processing


• Organize and maintain an orderly warehouse


• Ability to maintain running condition of a fluid bed for breaks and lunches


• Maintain safety, food safety, quality, and technical training as assigned by Production Manager


• Follow Ashland and Paterson site-specific safety policies; report unsafe environments and behaviors. 


• Comply with Ashland and Paterson site-specific food safety policies.


• Other duties as assigned

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

• High School Diploma or GED


• Ability to read, speak and understand English


• Basic understanding of math calculations


• Ability to safely operate a forklift


• Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. to chest height

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook


• Powder processing experience


• Dry blending and/or spray drying experience
