Essential Duties:

• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of diesel engines


• Removal/Replacement /Trouble shooting of gas / propane engines


• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of hydraulic systems


• Removal/Replacement /Trouble shooting of electrical systems


• Metal fabricating as necessary


• Removal/Replacement /Trouble shooting of refrigeration systems


• Removal/Replacement /Trouble shooting of brake systems


• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of transmissions


• Removal /Replacement/Trouble shooting of Differentials


• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of Suspensions


• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of Hydraulic brakes(autos and lifts)


• Removal/Replacement /Trouble shooting of Hydraulic pumps (cylinders and valves)


• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of diagnostic systems


• Removal/Replacement/Trouble shooting of air conditioning


• Auto body detailing as needed.


• Removal/Replacement/Repair of tires for all vehicles and heavy equipment

Capabilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair all types of power equipment, terminal and stevedore while maintaining a safe work area


• Be able to weld Arc, Gas, Tig,& Mig


• Be able to communicate, both verbal and written


• Work as directed by general foreman


• Maintain positive attitude amongst colleagues and terminal personnel

Requirements:

• Two years of related schooling plus seven years of applicable experience.


• Selected candidate will be required to be a member of the IAM Union and will be governed by the applicable bargaining unit agreement.

Physical Working Conditions

• Requires the full use of the person's hands, arms and legs.


• Upper-body strength to be able to R/R engines, transmissions, truck rear-ends, all applicable hydraulic cylinders that are associated with large forklifts and all container handling equipment.


• Standing, sitting, squatting, lying down.


• Able to lift, pull stretch to use and reach power equipment.


• Able to climb ladders.


• Able to see and hear fast moving equipment.
