Gensler's Charlotte Consulting practice helps our clients make better decisions about how they support their people, position their businesses and manage their real estate assets. Our consulting services include strategic planning, real estate and portfolio analysis, repositioning/relocation analysis, alternative workplace strategy, activity analysis, experience design, change management and programming. We're looking for a Strategist who possesses outstanding client relationship, leadership, and persuasive communication skills.

What You Will Do


  • As a design strategist, you will address real estate and facilities utilization, workplace performance, user-experience and health and well-being strategies - all with the objective of improving organizational performance.


  • Identify and help win Gensler-fit projects and develop a pipeline of consistent consulting projects.


  • Be an integral part in the growth and success of consulting projects.


  • Assist with proposal development, including scope definition and process mapping.


  • Develop creative design concepts that illustrate options of how client organizations can be supported through performance enhancing workplace strategies.


  • Synthesize information and the impact on space supply and occupancy demand data, business goals, and organizational culture.


  • Develop powerful communication tools that help clients to visualize and understand the tradeoffs associated with various design concept and planning scenarios.


  • Interface with Gensler design studios to ensure the seamless transition of design strategy into the design implementation phase.


Your Qualifications


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Real Estate related, or another relevant field


  • Proven track record of identifying leads, developing relationships and building a network


  • Experience winning and delivering small and large-scale consulting projects and taking advantage of synergies across market sectors in client development pursuits


  • Adept at storytelling, engaging as a communicator, possess strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate ideas in interviews and other presentations


  • Experience executing projects in areas related to design strategy and are looking to leverage your experience alongside Gensler's industry trendsetters


  • Ability to guide or inform design strategies and design planning for workplace projects


  • Comfort in a fast-paced, dynamic, open, collaborative environment and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously


  • Candidates should be self-starters, quick learners and have an entrepreneurial spirit


  • 7-10+ years of workplace interior design background with design strategy experience strongly preferred


  • Strong writing skills.


  • High degree of flexibility, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously


  • Proficient in MS Office andAdobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)


  • Familiarity in Revit and other multi-media technologies preferred
