Senior Financial Analyst at IDEXX Laboratories, Inc in Westbrook, Maine

Job Description:

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will participate in the monthly and quarterly integration of the worldwide VetLab financials providing insightful analysis for both domestic and international regions in addition to forecasting/budgeting and other internal reporting.

Automation of existing reporting and analysis tools will be a main focus for this role with the goal to enhance the existing analysis and commentary while providing strategic insight into the business. This role will also include preparation and review of slides and commentary for monthly business reviews and other adhoc analysis.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Participate in the monthly close process for VetLab and Point of Care (PoC) which includes comparing actual performance to latest financial outlook, as well as preparing analysis and commentary.

* Develop and provide consistent, timely and accurate product financial analysis, reports and presentations to finance and business leaders. Present to management as required.

* Develop ad hoc analysis supporting VetLab and PoC finance managers and business partners as needed.

* Participate in the consolidation and submission of PoC budget/forecast to Corporate.

* Utilizes data, metrics and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize customer experience.

* Identifies problems, obstacles and opportunities and proactively acts to address issues. Strives for continuous improvement, including enhancements of existing reporting and metrics.

* Define and implement, individually or as part of a team, improvements to process based on evaluation of existing procedures and business needs

* Communicates with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCEED

* Work cross-functionally throughout the organization, often serving as the primary financial contact.

* The ability to work in an international and multi-cultural environment.

* Be comfortable supporting special projects where often the team member is the primary contact.

* Ability to identify and implement processes to monitor both financial and non-financial measures.

* Work with various analysis tools which could include SAP, SAP BPC, Tableau, SAS and Business Objects with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and visualization.

* Identify and implement processes and improvements in planning, analysis and reporting. This includes leveraging information technology to automate, streamline, and integrate processes.

* Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Economics, Accounting, Finance or related business concentration.

* Strong analytical skills with ability to provide financial advice and insight.

* Verbal and written communication skills, as this role will interact with various regions/groups across the organization

* Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a shared goal.

* Personal computer skills, including Microsoft Office experience

EDUCATION:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crouch.


• May be required to lift, move and carry up to 25 pounds.


• Specific vision abilities required may include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.


• Hearing acuity sufficient to effectively communicate with customers and Employees via telephone and in person.


• Ability to communicate verbally on phone and in person.


• Fluency in the English language.


• Some travel may be required.
