Title: Data Governance Analyst II

Location: Remote

Department: Central Data/AI

The Trimble Data & AI transformation team works with other Trimble Cloud Core teams as well as Trimble Sectors, divisions, and local business units to help realize the promise that Trimble's unique Data position in the market enables. The Data & AI transformation team evaluates and enhances the current state of key competencies around data, analytics, and connections to help each business maximize their return on analytic investment.

Position Summary

We have an exceptional opportunity for a Data Governance Analyst to join our Data Governance Team. The Data Governance team has a mission to support people, process, and technology that enables the right people to have the right data at the right time. As part of this team, the Data Governance Analyst will engage with Data Owners, Stewards, and Custodians to research, define, and document critical data facts and the relevant facets that translate these facts into information. This role will also support the creation of appropriate policies and data processes that facilitate successful governance of the data artifacts.

We are looking for a candidate who can serve as a key contact for business and technical users needing guidance on governance and proper data usage of the organization's data. The ideal candidate will have experience translating facts about data into information and knowledge that can be enforced through data governance policy to enhance data as a trusted asset of the enterprise.

Responsibilities

50% Data Analysis: Collaborate with Data Owners, Stewards, Custodians, and SME's to create a consistent model of enterprise data. Gather facts surrounding data to create a foundational asset framework. Create consensus amount groups and provide recommendations and problem-solving guidance to meet organizational requirements for data usage.

30% Data Stewardship: Assist in the implementation of the data management strategy, including user policies and training materials, set refresh cycles, and statistical reporting for achieving and maintaining high data quality. Ensure that the enterprise data is aligned with relevant policies and procedures set forth by the Data Governance Team.

20% Data Governance: Assist in the creation of data quality metrics and governance reporting to monitor and continuously improve data assets. Participate in ongoing governance program activities including culture and training, process management, compliance, performance, and technology enablement.

Required Skills:


  • 1+ years of Data Governance experience.


  • 3+ years of data analysis and/or modeling experience.


  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within the team, and with leaders of other teams


Preferred Skills:


  • Experience with large-scale enterprise data.


  • Master Data Management Experience.


  • 1+ years direct experience building and managing content repositories.


  • Experience with logical and physical models in Collibra Data Governance Center.
