This is a high-impact role for an experienced RF Engineer to be part of the team defining a new Bose product category that will improve people's lives in ways no other company can. The fundamental responsibilities of the Sr. RF Engineer include:


  • Analysis, design, implementation, optimization and enhancement of wireless subsystems for consumer electronic products.

  • Perform link budgets analysis, system planning, interference analysis and optimization

  • Design, simulation, and verification of RF circuitry at PCB level, with solid understanding in RF component characteristics and behaviors

  • Design and optimization of antenna systems

  • Evaluation of design prototypes

  • Experienced user of RF lab equipment

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Oversee and guide technicians, manage the projects' daily operations

  • Strong communication and organizational skills, daily interface with other engineering teams and Project Managers.

Examples of specific tasks that would be undertaken:


  • Design and simulation of RF sub-circuits such as PCB etch antennas, matching and filtering networks

  • Architecture of RF sub-systems with multiple transceivers that co-exist

  • Evaluation of RF subsystems performance: antenna frequency response and 3D patterns, radio sensitivity, interference response, link performance, variance across environmental extremes

  • Supplier communications for development of SOC based designs solutions

  • Evaluation of regulatory validation test results, resolution of issues

  • Determination of optimal configurations for products' worldwide releases

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Masters preferred)

  • 5+ years of consumer electronics product design and analysis experience

  • Track record of design of complex RF subsystems

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance

Skills and experience that would be beneficial:


  • High speed design experience is a plus, including HDMI, memory, USB, digital audio, digital video etc.

  • Experience with WAN network systems.

  • Experience with the design of terrestrial radio receivers (AM/FM/DAB)

  • Experience with wireless system fundamentals and techniques used to analyze coexistence between a variety of wireless systems occupying the same band

  • Experience using tools

    • High speed/RF simulation: (CST, ADS, or HFSS)

    • Electronics CAD (Cadence tools beneficial)



  • Thorough understanding of all aspects of a complete wireless product development lifecycle, from concept through mass production
