Job Description:
- Overall responsibility for quality, productivity, delivery performance and customer satisfaction
- Monitors and evaluates KPI goals for area and holds Team Leaders and their teams accountable
- Uses an SFM (Shop Floor Management) approach as a means of feedback on KPI's
- Meets regularly per SFM procedures to cover performance
- Addresses performance issues by supporting Team Leaders in all performance related issues
- Provides recognition and rewards related to performance goals
- Responsible for leading Team Leader's
- Responsible for creating a motivating atmosphere of trust and open communication with TL's
- Communicates Team Leader standards, objectives & goals and holds them accountable in all aspects of their job
- Responsible for evaluating TL performance providing feedback and establishing developmental plans for growth
- Coaches, mentors and councils TL's related to developmental process
- Responsible for providing a safe work environment and promoting safe work habits in all employees
- Ensures all Team Leaders are in alignment with Company Safety philosophy, guidelines & process
- Holds each Team Leader accountable for their areas safety performance and promotes safety awareness
- Responsible for creating a motivating atmosphere of trust and open communication where:
- Team Leaders and their employees are engaged and actively participating in performance improvement
- Team Leaders and their employees take ownership and responsibility for the performance of the team
- Responsible for shift to shift communication and knowledge transfer regarding priority items, down time etc.
- Responsible for monitoring staffing levels ensuring proper labor complements and adjust accordingly
- Follows hiring process while partnering with HR in approval, selection and hiring
- Adheres to the 90 indoctrination and probationary procedures and paperwork requirements
- Participates in succession planning and identification of critical skills positions
- Holds TL's accountable for maintaining a competent, skilled work group following training and development guidelines
- Monitors TL's duty of ensuring new employees are trained and use approved training model/material
- Monitors TL's duty of ensuring current employees receive refresher training/new procedures/new equipment etc.
- Ensures that TL's maintain all training records of employees and that certifications are current
- Ensures that TL's and their employee are ready pertaining to all audits internal and external
- Actively participates in all employee performance evaluations and disciplinary actions
- Evaluation of employees - Receives feedback from TL's for employee evaluation purposes
- Is present in all meetings with TL's when evaluations are communicated with employee
- Assist engineering when assessing employee readiness for labor grade promotions
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical field preferred; will consider comparable work experience preferably within Schaeffler
- Experience supervising is helpful but not mandatory
- Demonstrated leadership skills and business acumen
- Broad manufacturing experience, preferably acquired within Schaeffler
- Good knowledge of production processes, measurement & inspection procedures, production planning & control, budget process, MS-Office and SAP
- Ability to manage and lead team leaders and other direct reports
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Experience and knowledgeable of Safety and Health systems
