Job Description:

• JOB SUMMARY
  
  • Reports to the VP of Operations. Responsible for managing the work of clinical and service associates to ensure high quality patient care and efficient day-to-day operations of the hospital department, including assigned off-site locations. Assists with the development and implementation of departmental policies and procedures to improve quality and efficiency. Ensures proper maintenance of departmental facilities, equipment, supplies and materials. Oversees introduction of new testing procedures and related protocols.

  • Education and Experience
    
    • The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a Bachelor's degree in Applied Health Science, Business Management or a related field. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration is required. A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the management of diagnostic radiology services, including supervisory experience in a hospital radiology department or healthcare environment is required. The successful completion of a Masters-level program in a management or healthcare related field is preferred.

    • Demonstrates the leadership and management skills necessary to effectively direct the day-to-day operations of the Radiology department.
      
      
    
    
    • Requires in-depth knowledge of the procedures performed and equipment utilized in diagnostic radiology.
      
      
    
    
    • Requires a solid understanding of the Radiology department's policies, procedures and practices. Also requires advanced knowledge of various regulatory agencies' requirements.
      
      
    
    
    • Requires the organization, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to respond to and resolve issues and problems that arise.
      
      
    
    
    • Demonstrates the communication and interpersonal skills necessary to elicit cooperation and support from others, and to interact tactfully with patients, physicians and other team members.   • Working Conditions
    
    • Work primarily occurs in an office environment. However, there is potential exposure to radiation hazards in the clinical environment.

    • Requires the physical ability and stamina (i.e., to remain on feet and walk for long periods of time, ability to push wheelchairs and carts, to lift or pull patients or supplies, to provide CPR, etc. and to sit for long periods of time) to perform the essential functions of the position.
