PC Support Technician

The PC Support Technician provides technical desktop support to Company employees to diagnose, repair, install, and maintain software and hardware. S/he installs new workstations, relocates workstations, and ensure Company equipment including faxes and printers are maintained in good working order with maximum up time. The PC Support Technician provides support in a timely and accurate manner and provides end-user assistance where required.

Duties/Responsibilities


  • Engages and collaborates with IT colleagues in a cross-functional, service-oriented team environment to promote knowledge sharing and continuous coverage of the help desk and associated IT support request management system.
  • Monitor the help desk phone line and associated IT support request management system as needed.
  • Provides routine analysis and problem solving of issues reported related to the performance of personal computing software, hardware, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains all fax machines, printers and copy machines.
  • Installs computer hardware, software, and peripherals for new employees and employee relocations.
  • Installs new software packages and upgrades.
  • Responds to uncompleted technical requests in the IT ticketing system and ensures timely communication with issue submitters.
  • Maintains documentation of inventory, configuration, and maintenance of all desktop workstations and Company issued laptops.
  • Maintains inventory for toner cartridges used in fax, printer and copy machines throughout the Company; places orders as necessary to ensure adequate supply is available when needed.
  • Requests quotes from approved vendors and submits purchase orders for hardware, software and IT supplies as needed.
  • Contacts and coordinates with hardware and software vendors for service if necessary.
    Aids in the development of system documentation and procedure manuals as required.
  • Oversees and coordinates the administration, creation, and changing of Company passwords.
  • Creates and modifies network profiles and Outlook mailboxes. Provide training to end users to maintain mailboxes.
  • Maintains anti-virus and spam filter applications across the network.
  • Maintains Active Directory.

    Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in desktop support or training role.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification preferred.
  • CompTIA N+ Certification a plus.
  • Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) a plus.
  • Experience with MS Local Area Networks.
  • Must have proficiency in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently, and be a willing and cooperative team player.
  • Must be able to work patiently and cooperatively with users that have varied technical abilities/knowledge.
  • Experience with Active Directory.
  • Experience building and deploying desktop and laptop images for Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 10 Enterprise using Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
