As a strategic thinking individual with the drive to problem-solve, the Merchandising Specialist will also be responsible for engaging our Marketing and customer teams to plan, develop, and execute merchandising events that support demand.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for developing and delivering merchandising plans and solutions that enable the NPP portfolio to drive incremental merchandising and share of voice at retail.
• Responsible for developing merchandising plans and solutions in the retail environment
• Lead cross functional teams from design and development through execution of all Nestle Purina merchandising solutions
• Work to ensure our teams are maximizing customer specific effectiveness of merchandising programming
• Develop and deploy key communications: merchandising guide, sell sheets, trade communications to ensure timely communication of merchandising solutions
• Develop and oversee all aspects of merchandising budgets to maximize return on investment and minimize overspend
• Work to provide on-going reporting to assess and optimize merchandising vehicles and programming and to drive continual improvement
  
  

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE:

• 2+ years business experiences working in a professional environment with marketing, sales, project management, vendor management or inventory management required.
• Experience in assisting in the development of customer or brand business plans preferred.
• Experience directly selling to vendor/retail partners and performing contract negotiations preferred.
• Experience in brand development, brand positioning, and/or cultivating brand identity preferred.

SKILLS:

• Excellent strategic, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to generate results through collaborating with cross-functional team members
• Excellent prioritization skills, and a focus on owning a project through all stages of execution.
• Ability to easily transition from high level strategic problem solving to detailed executional activities
• Proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

This role may require up to 5% travel (1-2 times a year) as business needs require.
