The Precision Application Software Developer creates software which runs on a custom Android display platform. This software enables user monitoring and control of Agricultural and other off-road, commercial vehicles. The developer must have the ability to generate efficient software code based on written and verbal specifications.
The Precision Applications System Engineer supports the design of timely, efficient and cost effective embedded electrical solutions for Precision Farming Applications such as ISOBUS 11783, Task Controller, Virtual Terminal, Data Management, Yield Monitoring, Overlap Control, Mapping etc. This position will act as interface between Platform, Marketing, Engineering and External Suppliers/Partners for requirements gathering and clarification as they relate to the above integration and interfaces. You will also ensure high quality demands on the execution, delivery and coordination of projects of the program will positively be achieved. This position is responsible to ensure the technical content meets Vehicle Platform needs and program timing adheres plans.
Responsibilities
Systems Engineer
Create detailed systems specifications for Precision Farming Applications ( ISOBUS, Task Controller, Virtual terminal, Data Management, Yield Monitoring, Overlap Control, Mapping etc.)
Assist in the development of product plans
Verify and integrate other engineering teams features into the base product
Works with Platform and Product Manager on clear deliverables
Verify system functionality meets the requirements
Review progress of projects and provide weekly progress updates to stakeholders
Make recommendations to peers and direct manager based on sound engineering principles, practices and judgment pertaining to specific engineering problems as a contribution to the overall engineering and manufacturing objectives
Prepare reports consistent with program requirements, CNH Industrial development processes and recommends processes unique to expertise
Propose innovations, create invention disclosures, critique and advocates proposals for others, propose and develop new design concepts and IP which will advance CNH Industrial product/systems
Software Developer
Development of Android applications using Java
Create software requirement documentation
Design and execute software unit test cases
Execute software performance tests
Analyze and root cause software issues
Use of SW development tools for version control, review and continuous integration
Qualifications
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering
The ideal candidate will have:
GPA 3.0 or higher
Relevant internships or co-ops experience
Candidate may have to relocate to proximity of CNH locations (i.e. Mt. Joy,IA; Goodfield, IL; Burr Ridge, IL; Fargo, ND; New Holland, PA)
