Huitt-Zollars' Houston Downtown office has a full-time Healthcare Medical Planner - Architect Intern opportunity with healthcare experience. This role performs support for Healthcare Architects in planning and production of projects. The successful candidate will havea minimum 6 years of architectural experience in design and construction of healthcare facilities. This candidate will fill need to support Houston Office with healthcare design and construction projects and should be knowledgeable of local healthcare clients. They will work directly with Project Manager / Project Architects and must possess a strong desire to excel and lead in a fast paced and client-focused environment. This person will assist the PA in the design and preparation design and construction documents for healthcare clients.

Responsibilities:

    Skilled in the use of BIM (REVIT) and other computer generated design software such as Illustrator, Enscape, Sketch-Up, etc.)
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able and skilled to successfully work in Projects Teams

  • Ability to multitask

  • Collaborate with client and project design team to develop building and spatial concepts and functional and space program of healthcare projects.

  • Participate in making decisions regarding planning and design concepts, including application of life-safety and building codes.

  • Coordinate concepts with engineering and contractors' design of systems for healthcare facilities.

  • Use Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to build models containing planning, design, and technical information.

  • Assist in documenting and maintaining project square footage within approved program.

  • Use Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop to coordinate production of presentation-quality drawings reflecting planning and design recommendations and client expectations relative to the approved program and budget.

  • Mentor junior staff through developed leadership skills.

  • Participate in responding to client and prospective client requests for proposal, make project presentations to clients, meet with prospective clients, network, publish topical articles, and attend professional seminars.

  • Continue education through seminars and participation in professional organization activities

Requirements:


  • Bachelors Degree in Architecture

  • Minimum of Six Years of Healthcare Architecture planning experience

  • Excellent knowledge of architectural design and detailing

  • Ability to nurture client relationships

  • On Track for Professional registration

  • Minimum 5 years ofproject architect experience in healthcare projects

  • Strong organizational, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to prioritize and deliver multiple projects with varying deadlines

  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Enscape, & other 3D Modeling and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Positive attitude and driven to succeed
