Revenue Cycle Specialist at Advanced Group in Lincolnshire, Illinois

Job Description:

Our client, a leading healthcare organization, is looking for a remote Revenue Cycle Specialist. This role will be responsible for day-to-day processes to verify patient eligibility and benefits (insurance verification) as well as providing preauthorization services and patient advocacy at times to patients throughout the United States. This role pays $20-23/hr.

Job duties:

• Verify insurance benefits for commercial and governmental payers.


• Eligibility investigations via phone and online web portals.


• Obtain authorizations by collecting supporting clinical data from customers and documenting all activities in the customer support system.


• Determine the predetermination, authorization, and referral requirements of each health plan and meeting the requirements prior to the delivery of services.


• Procure medical records and additional data from patients and customers.


• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all inquiries for continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• High school diploma requiredorrelevant experience in healthcare. Bachelor's Degree preferred.


• 2+ years of experience with health insurance, benefits investigations, and reimbursement, along with billing and coding.


• Knowledge of regulatory and payer requirements for reimbursement and reason(s) for denials, preferred.


• Ability to work independently as an individual contributor and adapt quickly to changing priorities.


• Possess strong work ethic and high standards of workmanship.


• Maintain confidentiality of patient data and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.


• Experience with Microsoft Office and CRM casing/ticketing systems a plus, (preferably salesforce.com).


• Possess a secure work area conforming to HIPAA guidelines.


• Able to deliver clear and effective communication with internal and external work partners, patients, and accounts.


• Comfortable and capable utilizing various communication tools including IM and video conferencing to enable virtual work collaboration.


• Able to maintain consistent work presence and impact during normal business hours and be available for ad hoc check-in's with managers and/or team leads.
