Quality Automation Engineer – Reverse Supply Chain at Best Buy in Richfield, Minnesota

Job Description:

This is a quality engineering position on a team in Best Buy's Reverse Supply Chain area. This is a cross-functional team member role that plays an integral part of the software delivery cycle on a dev-ops product team. Reverse Supply Chain focuses on return and trade-ins and manages the backward movement of these products from the store to the end consumer. The focus is on optimizing logistics and warehouse processes as well as sales channels to increase recovery for a product that comes back into Best Buy’s ecosystem. In addition, we focus on the trade-in space which provides a resale channel for customers' used products and creating a seamless experience both online and in-store to facilitate this process and help the customer maximize the value of products they want to trade-in.

This specific role will be on the automation product team within reverse which focuses on building automation tools that support all product teams. The main mission of this team is to create technology-agnostic ways to increase automation and testing efficiencies both within apps and between them.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Create testing tools that increase testing quality and efficiency.

  • Create and maintain regression suites.

  • Write test cases and test scripts using current programming language and technologies

  • Leverage testing to help shift processes left

  • Troubleshoot system issues, support the fix of software defects, perform overall testing/debugging

  • Responsible for application testing and maintenance for delivering business value online. Follows the software development life cycle phases from concept and design to testing deployment. Supports applications in production

  • Writes system test scripts and fixes software defects when required. Performs overall testing and debugging of applications. Troubleshoots system defects

  • Performing code reviews and collaborating with other engineers on the team

  • Completes basic documentation needed to support applications from the development phase to the maintenance phase. Creates deployment automation and run books for production support

  • Be an active participant in application design

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4+ years related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years related experience without a bachelor’s degree

  • 4+ years’ experience building testing into applications in both web and service-oriented environments using one or more of the following languages: Selenium, Katalon, Cucumber, or something similar

  • 4+ years’ experience in manual and exploratory testing of front and back-end of applications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to interpret or write C# code, Javascript code, and Microsoft SQL scripts
