The Frisco Bowl, based in Frisco, Texas, began in 2017 with the mission of generating tourism for the North Texas area through an annual football game and supporting events. The Frisco Bowl is now accepting applications from candidates for its 2021 Events Internship. The Frisco Bowl and Toyota Stadium have created a unique hands-on experience for students looking to gain experience in the Sports, Marketing and Entertainment industry. We are looking for bright, passionate, hard-working students to be a part of our team through our internship program. Individuals will not be considered for a Frisco Bowl Internship position until an online internship application is completed.


All internships for the Frisco Bowl and the Toyota Stadium & Soccer Center are unpaid internships and must be used to receive college credit from an accredited university. The internships allow the individual to gain valuable experience with a professional organization for their future in the sports industry. All candidates’ hours can be flexible to accommodate with your school or work schedule. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. 


POSITION OVERVIEW:


The Frisco Bowl is looking for an Events Intern to assist with the planning and preparation of events for bowl game activities. The intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with day to day objectives of the bowl game. The internship may take place between mid-May to Mid-August, and may be a remote position dependent upon guidelines in place at the time of the internship.


JOB DUTIES:


· Assist in the planning and preparation for the Frisco Bowl Golf Classic (October 2021)


· Provide support and recap of the Frisco Bowl Online Auction (May 2021)




  • Exposure to the management of      all events and logistical needs including, but not limited to, entertainment,      catering, décor, signage, audio/visual, gifts, volunteers, guest services,      and events spaces

  • Assist in the planning and      execution of all events related to the Frisco Bowl

  • Provide support for the team      host hotels, including room planning & logistics, meeting spaces,      players’ lounges and hospitality lounges

  • Assist in the development &      direction of events including, but not limited to, Team Arrival Dinner,      Player Gift Suite, Kids Day Out, Ladies Day Out, Joint Team Dinner,  Charity & Hospital Visits, VIP Reception, and Pregame Party

· Provide assistance to the Events & Guest Services Coordinator


 PREREQUISITES


· Pursuing a degree and/or career in Sports Management or Event Planning


· Must be able to receive class credit for internship


· Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint


· Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds


Note: Preferred commitment of 40 hours a week consistent with academic demands/schedule.
