Overview
The Bank's Financial Management department consists of five teams: Accounts Payable, Compliance, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting and Procurement. The Financial Accounting team is looking for an Accountant who will report to a Manager and help us prepare the Bank's financial statements, recording accounting transactions, reviewing general ledger accounts and activity, capitalizing Bank assets and performing analysis and other reporting needs
Responsibilities
On a daily basis, you will compare key lines on Bank's Balance Sheet to supporting documentation to verify that balances are reasonable.
Complete general ledger account reconciliations and analyzes for aged and inappropriate items.
Record accounting transactions in the accounting applications.
Process intercompany transactions between Reserve Banks.
Set up capital assets, which includes ensuring that the appropriate asset type, correct useful life, and depreciation calculations are correct and ensures accurate reporting on the balance sheet.
Prepare monthly accruals for services rendered.
Perform analytical reviews and reporting needs.
Gather and review information necessary to fulfill audit requests.
Help prepare the quarterly and year-end Adjusted Trial Balance (ATB) and Financial Statements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or similar field of study or commensurate experience.
3 years relevant experience
Experience preparing financial reports
Excellent customer service skills and ability to maintain business relationships
Organizational and time management skills
Polished and professional oral and written communications
Interpersonal and listening skills, with peers and supervisors
Analytical and problem-solving skills
High standards of confidentiality; ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and trust
CPA Certification preferred
