Job Description:

Edelman is looking for a VP, Resource Manager to join our New York team. This central role will lead resource management for the office - focusing on creative and strategy - and be part of a larger, US resource management team.

As the VP, Resource Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maximizing staffing resources, providing accurate and insightful reporting and analysis to leadership and project teams, identifying areas of opportunities, and in partnership with the Vice President, of Resource Management provide guidance on strategic and thoughtful staffing suggestions. In this role, you will ensure that all new projects and opportunities are properly routed and communicated through the necessary systems and processes to ensure clients, teams, colleagues and the work are set up for success.

This is the right role for you, if you have strong communication and people skills, command a strong understanding of project requirements and finance fundamentals; understands employee skillsets background, development needs and career goals; and effectively balance workforce planning. The Resource Supervisor/Senior Resource Manager is the main efficiency driver.

Responsibilities:


    • Lead partnership efforts with project and dept leads in coordinating staffing logistics for projects, ensuring staffing requests are fulfilled in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

    • Ensure that all projects and teams have resources needed to deliver effectively.

    • Flag and advise on issues/gaps to appropriate leadership and help problem solve.

    • Initiate independent contractor or external hiring solutions when internal staffing solutions do not exist.

    • Manage and traffic requests and casting assignments through resourcing and project management tools

    • Provide day-to-day management of interdepartmental resource sharing across divisions; reviews resource capacity to ensure optimal utilization

    • Report on utilization and other staffing metrics to executive leadership on a regular cadence, highlighting trends, opportunities and concerns.

    • Develop relationships across the organization to understand skill sets, passion points and current workload for all talent.

    • Inform and evolve resourcing processes and systems as needed

    • Filed day-to-day intake of requests for resources across Edelman's full portfolio of clients.

    • Set/manage expectations and priorities and communicate proactively on status of fulfillment to internal stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:


    • 8-10 years of previous experience as a resource manager or project manager (agency experience preferred)

    • Highly organized, proactive individual who excels in time management and a fast-paced environment.

    • Stays calm under pressure, managing tight deadlines and multi-tasking of large and small tasks.

    • Viewed as a trusted advisor with a successful track record of building and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of the organization.

    • Comfortable being accountable to multiple stakeholders.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong conflict resolution and problem-solving ability.

    • Analytical and experienced in evaluating data to identify trends, opportunities and challenges.

    • Self-motivated, resourceful and detail-oriented.

    • Eager and quick to learn new responsibilities with ease and confidence.

    • Proficient in basic Office software and programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PPT), and some familiarity with project/resource management systems (e.g., Smartsheet, PSA, Workamajig, 10K, etc)

    • Personable demeanor, with aspirations to partner closely with a range of colleagues at all levels from varying disciplines, geos and levels

    • Ability to handle sensitive situations, information and conversations with professionalism and confidentiality
