We approach problems with creativity and innovation. The Glen Allen, VA office of Schnabel Engineering is seeking a local IT professional to support our growing business unit. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a profession, and be part of a strong team.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Assists staff with technical support of computers, applications, switches, cabling, and related technologies within established standards and guidelines. 

  • Assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated hardware and software. 

  • Provide daily on-site, remote desktop, and phone support to offices located throughout the United States

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and associated software including Windows 10 and Microsoft O365. 

  • Assess user needs, generate hardware and software recommendations, assist in data backups, and prepare network documentation. 

  • Work with vendors to resolve technical problems with desktop hardware and software.

Required Skills/Experience:


  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required with advanced computer training; a bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred.

  • A minimum of one to two years of experience in desktop and network support (internship experience acceptable).

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 and wireless technologies is beneficial. 

  • A strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • This position requires independent analyses, problem solving, timeliness, and a solid troubleshooting background as well as the ability to work independently with initiative and good judgment. 

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required. No visa sponsorship will be provided

  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and must undergo a background check that may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit checks, plus a drug screen.
