Summary/Objective:

The Lean Manufacturing Expert facilitates the implementation of Lean Manufacturing goals and strategies for improving the operations and processes within the organization. Evaluates all continuous improvement activities and implements plans to optimize performance and processes.

Essential Functions:


  1. Organize, implement and maintain production process flow.

  2. Suggest hands-on process improvements using a combination of Lean Manufacturing with a focus towards optimizing labor resources and systems, flow creation, 5S and waste reduction.

  3. Improve existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings.

  4. Facilitate value stream mapping. Investigate operational problems affecting production and reporting and recommending solutions.

  5. Provide manufacturing data i.e. production control charts, reliability, process capability, to improve the process and monitor and measure progress to target outcome.

  6. Organize meetings with other team members to facilitate growth.

  7. Assist in identifying ways to reduce production inefficiencies through recommendations- i.e: new processes, elimination of waste, machinery enhancements.

  8. Provide assistance on development and documentation of KPI’s and systems designed to sustain and drive continuous improvement.

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree 3-5 years’ experience leading lean/ continuous improvement implementations

  • Experience with managing business processes

  • Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma tools to improve and re-engineer processes

  • Master Black Belt or Black Belt certification required

Required Skills and Abilities:


  • Expert process mapping and Visio skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)

  • Ability to meet established deadlines; must be a self-starter who can work independently as well as be a team player

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills a must

  • Must be action and results-oriented, with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

  • Ability to coach, counsel, and develop people
