Plant Manager - COS at Lindsay Precast, Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Job Description:

Summary:

Reporting to the division General Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for setting and enforcing high standards for safety, precast concrete operations, ensuring compliance to regulatory and company standards and developing production plans to meet forecasted sales. Additionally, this position is responsible for creating and facilitating continuous improvement of plant processes and systems focusing on opportunities to improve production by using all available resources. 

Essential Functions: 


  • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures. 

  • Oversee the production requirements set forth by the scheduler by making sure molds are in shop ready for casting as required. 

  • Assign personnel within the shop to meet production requirements based on incentive efficiency hourly requirements. 

  • Work with Human Resources and Supervisors to build a strong workforce and see that safety, quality and housekeeping standards are maintained. 

  • Coordinates with dispatch so that trucks are available when needed to removed product from shop and that product is ready when required. 

  • Coordinate with dispatch and forklift operators to assure that materials are brought into and out of the shop as required. Assure that product is handled in proper fashion to minimize damage. Minimize the amount of time the doors are open in the winter. 

  • Work with purchasing to monitor inventory of raw materials and production goods to meet production needs. 

  • Work with Quality Control to assure that all standards are defined and met. Continue to work jointly on reducing scrap. 

  • Work with fabrication and maintenance departments to assure all tooling is in good working order while always focusing on improving efficiency of production practices. 

  • Responsible for attaining plant production goals. 

  • control and minimize labor overtime.

  • Foster a well-trained and motivated production staff. 

  • In the event of a plant breakdown, incorrectly made product, broken product, or any other uncontrollable mishap calmly work through the situation to assure the customer is taken care of. Follow up with the situation to assure the issue will not happen again. 

  • Supervise the timely preparation and accurate submittal of all production and labor reports. 

  • Work with supervisors to make sure molds and tools are cleaned put away at the end of each shift.

  • Select and/or train plant supervisory staff.

  • Assist with employee performance reviews. 

  • schedule and conduct plant meetings. 

  • Attend scheduled training and meetings. 

Experience and Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in related construction, manufacturing or industrial discipline is highly desired.

  • One to Three years of manufacturing or construction experience with proven supervisory success required.

  • Strong technical background in concrete, construction or manufacturing processes is desired.

  • Decision making and problem-solving skills.

  • Significant knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other software applications.

  • Ability to effectively lead personnel and utilize human assets in accomplishing bottom line focused objectives to improve production. 

  • Must have the ability to plan, set objectives and goals, prioritize, measure performance, provide direction and meet deadlines.  




Salary:

$78,500.00
