The duties of the Environmental, Health and Safety intern will be focused on supporting the execution of the environmental/safety projects and assisting with regulatory programs. This position will be based at West Bend location. This is a paid, seasonal internship. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your class schedule if needed. 

This position will start summer of 2021.

What you'll do:

• Assisting with day-to-day compliance functions including OSHA, EPA, state and local regulations.


• Completion and review of regulatory reports.


• Assist with environmental audits.


• Tracking of safety and environmental metrics.


• Safety projects including Written Compliance Program updates, standardization, implementation and training.


• Create and/or update procedures and documents (i.e. LOTO Procedures, Confined Space Entry Procedures, etc.)


• Assist with scanning/uploading EHS documentation into different platforms.


• Updating Safety Communication Board and trending results and data. Assist with feedback sessions with Leaders.

What you need to succeed:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Safety or related field.


• Must have at least 2 semesters remaining in school upon start date (May 2022 grads or later).


• Maintain GPA 2.75 or higher.


• Effective communications skills.


• Ability to work well with Plant Partners, Maintenance Partners, as well as Partners in other departments.


• Ability to take ownership of assignments and complete them.


• Ability to work effectively as an individual with minimal direction, and as part of a team.


• Desire to grow and take on new challenges/opportunities.


• Advanced computer skills; intermediate spreadsheet/database skills helpful.
