Job Description:  Dry Plant Production Line Lead   

Responsibilities:  This is a working lead position for the Dry Plant.  Candidate will be expected to both work on the line and ensure compliance for the production team on all areas. 


  • Work and manage a team of production line members during an 8 - 12-hour shift.

  • Must understand and maintain all GMP Standards for the production area to include: Cleaning Requirements, uniform standards for all assigned team members, glove policy as needed and other PPE as assigned and all other rules and regulations.

  • Know quality aspects of the products to be able to visually check them and Mixes ingredients by following established procedures.

  • Records amount and kinds of ingredients, coding data and other appropriate information on Batch Sheets and other required documentation.

  • Receives and secures inventory.

  • May be responsible for verifying weights, measures, coding data, and other evaluations for product control.

  • Coordinate directly with Shift Manager on all concerns and ensure follow through on critical issues.

  • Must be able to effectively clean and direct all changeovers meeting Quality Control Requirements.

  • Must be able to work in a team concept and work together with other crew members.

  • All other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager and or Batcher.

 

Requirements:


  • 1 – 2 years of previous lead or supervisor experience or equivalent managing a team of 1 or more employees.

  • 1 – 2 years of forklift experience or able to be forklift certified with American Nutrition

  • Must be able to work weekends.

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

  • Must be over 18.

 

Work Environment:


  • Must be able to work in a schedule-driven 8 – 12-hour shift environment with a customer service orientation to support plant operations. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate

  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and e-file background testing required

  • Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices, including appropriate safety equipment apply. Job will generally be performed in a manufacturing environment.

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand for prolonged periods of time, climb stairs, climb ladders and walk plant floors that could exceed one mile of travel per day.

  • The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; and bending, reaching, and crouching.

  • Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from computer screens to close forms.

  • Strength: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds with regularity.

  • Must be able to understand and follow work instructions in English
