Job Title: Process Improvement Manager

Job Summary:

This position is located at the Milliken Live Oak Plant located in LaGrange, Georgia. The position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts at the site and playing a leadership role in supporting the safety process. It plays a key role in the development and implementation of manufacturing process improvements that drive new performance levels, reduce costs, and improve quality and process consistency. The Process Improvement Manager leads and oversees studies to reduce costs, increase production, improve safety, and troubleshoot problems with existing processes. Also responsible for the supervision and assignment of resources necessary to complete projects.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop a thorough understanding of all factors and conditions that impact the processes and products, including environmental impacts. This will include significant time on the production floor engaged with the daily measurement systems and establishing a standard work plan for auditing and follow up along with continuous improvements to the measurement system and cascading of key measures.

  • Use sound project management skills to guide and direct multiple improvement projects. Must have Green Belt certification or equivalent with a proven track record of personal ownership of DMAIC methodology leading to significant waste elimination. Working knowledge of MPS System, or equivalent TPM.

  • Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills and focused improvement methods. Experience in Value Stream mapping is a requirement.

  • Incorporate creative thinking into the problem-solving approach to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient

  • Prepare diagrams, charts, tables to reflect findings and support recommendations

  • This role will report to the Sr. Operations Manager to ensure location goals are met while:

  • Leading a team of Process Engineers

    1. Foster a working environment that promotes open communications, teamwork and individual engagement to accomplish goals and objectives

    2. Ensure that project work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner



  • Ensure that written performance evaluations of associates are completed as required, provide continuous feedback on performance issues, and take action to recognize achievements and address deficiencies or problems

Qualifications - Required:


  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or experience and demonstrated success in process improvement

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience leading a location with a Quality System such as ISO

  • Production Management experience at any level which includes the Performance Reviews of Hourly Production Associates.
