VSE Corporation is currently seeking a Driver Trainer with at least five (5) years of experience to fill a position at Ft Benning, GA Transportation Division performing the following duties:


* Responsible for the licensing/certification program that validates the ability of personnel to operate selected motor vehicles.
* Establish and maintain a variety of records and files related to the program.
* Conduct evaluation rides.
* Check routes to ensure the laws and local safety standards are met.
*Conduct behind-the-wheel training for certification/re-certification as required.
* Provide training for motorcycles and special use vehicles as required.
* Conduct defensive driving courses.
* Maintain a variety of records and files (both manually and computerized) required by the department, post and state law.
* Operate a computer to develop and maintain required records and produce reports.
* Maintain driving records for all transportation personnel, notify drivers of license and certificate expiration dates.
* Respond to phone inquiries as required.
* When required, conduct certification training for new drivers in 40 hours of classroom instruction and 20 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience: At least five (5) years of experience or any combination of education, training and/or experience which demonstrates ability to perform the required duties.
* Demonstrated experience in planning, development and implementation of driver training programs.
* Knowledge of laws and regulations as they relate to the use of motor vehicles.
* Ability to schedule and coordinate all driver training programs.
* Drive each type of vehicle used
* Teach in an interested and meaningful manner.
* Must possess a valid Class A state driver's license and the ability to maintain qualification
* Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisted.
* Must be able to pass a physical examination and a drug screen.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC if required.
