Location Profile


Greenville Metals is a unique metallurgical resource with the ability to partner strategically with customers. We provide technology-based solutions and services to companies around the globe which require air melt grade master alloys and conversion products. Greenville Metals produces metallurgical products using many techniques including electric arc furnace, AOD, induction furnaces, and various crushing, grinding, and sizing equipment. We use nickel, cobalt, and iron-based (particularly stainless steel) alloys to produce products such as ingots, pigs, shot, and powder.




Position Summary


The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and assisting with monthly closing functions for US and UK entities of the organization.






Primary Duties & Responsibilities



  • Process vendor invoices daily within ERP system.

  • Prepare and process weekly check runs.

  • Daily AR invoicing, including updating sales by customer files, write offs, debit and credit memos.

  • Manage AR/AP month end closing including journal entries.

  • Reconciling customer/vendor accounts.

  • Assisting with various daily, weekly and monthly reporting.

  • Perform monthly reconciliations.

  • Manage various accounting projects.

  • Liaison with external and internal auditors.

  • Understanding of INCO terms.

  • Revenue Recognition activities at month and quarter end.

  • Working within compliance of Sarbanes Oxley.

  • Track sales taxes due.

  • Set-up and monitor vendor ACH options.

  • Track unrecorded liabilities at month and quarter end.

  • Track/maintain nonstandard terms for AP and AR

  • Process 1099's and 1096 state filings.

  • Track AR receivables.

  • Other duties as assigned.






Experience & Education


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 1-3 years' work experience.





Required Skills



  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Strong organization and problem solving skills with the ability to prioritize and complete projects.

  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines.

  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours.

  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.

  • Performs all aspects of the position according to the company Code of Ethics and SOX guidelines.






Desired Skills


* Prior AP and/or AR experience preferred.

* Prior International Accounting experience favorable.
* Glovia and Dynamics GP ERP system favorable.
* Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley favorable.
