Position at Logitech


Position Overview:
Logitech is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technician to support our engineering and design teams. The Mechanical Engineering Technician will develop mechanical prototypes to be used for cosmetic and engineering validation. Experience with 3D printing, woodworking, casting and cosmetic finishing will be required for this position. Electronic assembly and soldering skills are also required. The materials used in the shop include, but are not limited to wood, metal, plastic, foam, RTV resins and adhesives.
Additional duties will include supporting the upkeep of the Mechanical Engineering prototype lab, assisting in providing safety training for new lab users, enforcing safety and housekeeping standards, and maintaining inventory. Suitable candidates will exemplify a positive, can-do attitude while managing competing priorities and be adept at providing clear and concise communications with project stakeholders across the organization.

Required Skills:

  • Rapid Prototype Experience (Polyjet experience preferred)



    • Equipment Maintenance

  • Urethane Casting Experience & Silicone Mold Making & Casting


  • Woodwork Experience


  • Metal Work Experience


  • Electronic assembly and rework experience


Desired Experience:

Familiarity with 3D modeling (Pro/e, Creo 3.0 or Onshape preferred) i.e. Ability to modify 3D engineering files, model simple fixtures and add hold down features for machining as required

Test Equipment:


  • Zwick


  • Drop Test


  • Programming experience with Arduino or Raspberry Pi


  • Circuit Board Prototyping


  • Photocure Polymer Experience


  • Experience with servicing In Ear Monitors or hearing aids



Must be Familiar with the Following Tools:


  • Table Saw


  • Band Saw


  • 3D Printing Machines


  • Drill Press


  • Router


  • Soldering Iron


  • Painting Equipment


  • Spray Booth


  • Measurement Equipment


  • Laser cutting Equipment


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to use variety of hand tools and test equipment


  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required in specific areas, such as eye protection, protective clothing, hearing protection, back supports and respirators


  • Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time


  • Must be able to lift 40 to 50 pounds occasionally


  • Ability to do fine detail work under a microscope


Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree or minimum 3 years of equivalent in prototype construction, urethane & silicone mold making and casting.
