Position Purpose: Primary responsibilities include providing consulting services to Ascensus clients through Ascensus' technical access service, providing in-house consulting, conducting seminars, technical research, analysis and special projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Phones
Answer 1-800 IRA queues
Training
Conduct presentations at the ERISA technical consulting meeting or other internal ERISA department training
Conduct IRA seminars and webinars
Course Development
Review, audit, and update existing basic and intermediate internal or external training modules
Legal Retirement Plan Document Drafting
Demonstrate a functional knowledge of Ascensus retirement plan documents
Forms
Demonstrate a functional knowledge of Ascensus retirement plan forms and notices
IRA Document Reviews
Assist with performance of IRA document reviews
Business Unit Policies and Procedures
Demonstrate functional knowledge of RPS or PSG policy and procedures
Special Projects (IT, project management)
Participate in special projects
Research
Complete basic IRA research projects and present basic IRA research findings
Technical Writing
Write articles for Ascensus publications and newsletters (e.g., Retirement Bulletin, Ascensus Quarterly, Advisor(K)onnection)
Legislation, Regulatory and Judicial Review
Analyze and interpret general legislative, statutory, regulatory, or case law guidance
Determine the impact that general legislative, statutory, regulatory, or case law guidance has to the retirement plan community and on Ascensus products, services, and systems
Retirement Plan Technical Knowledge (IRA/ESA/HSA, Prohibited Transactions, Investments and 529 plans)
Demonstrate a functional knowledge of IRAs/SEPs/SIMPLEs/CESAs/HSAs, prohibited transactions, and investments
Industry Knowledge
Demonstrate basic knowledge of the retirement plans industry including applicable regulatory agencies (e.g., DOL and IRS)
Continuing Education
Enhance technical and industry knowledge by attending continuing education classes
Mentoring
Successfully mentor IRA Specialist associates
Travel
This position may include 25%-40% travel
SLAs
Meet department service level standards
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Cross-Trained
Cross-train into QRP Specialist
Minimum Requirements:
Degrees
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting or a related field
Industry Experience
1 year of Ascensus experience or 3 years industry experience
Performance Review Ratings
Performance review ratings of exceeding expectations
