Equipment Engineer























This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Equipment Engineer to join our team, working collaboratively within a small team to maintain equipment and perform production runs for IC devices.  This includes the design and build of test hardware load boards, dut cards, and probe cards.  It requires deep equipment knowledge, the ability to validate and release equipment and products into production based on detailed specifications, and the technical experience to troubleshoot tester and prober issues.  The position assists in the software development process and specification documentation for new IC projects.  It interfaces internally with IC product and yield teams to troubleshoot and optimize IC production runs.  





Primary Responsibilities Candidate Profile


  • Perform product setup and maintain equipment on EWS test floor

  • Troubleshoot systems, electrical, and mechanical problems as necessary on production setups

  • Work closely with other test engineers & organizations on IC testing and program development

  • Work with Yield Enhancement Engineers on problem products



  • Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the manager




Education / Experience Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • Two or more years’ relevant experience in IC test or reliability test with some program development.

  • Technical use of scopes and meters

  • Ability to interpret board layouts and trouble shoot test setups



Additional Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities


  • Excellent communication skills and judgement in determining proper cadence of status updates

  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve with "hands-on" experience

  • Excellent computer skills:  fully versed in MS Windows, and compatible word processors, spreadsheets, e-mail

  • Familiarity with LTXC or similar Test Systems

  • Knowledge of Unix, Linux, C, C++, Envision, Unison

  • Understanding inner workings of Integrated Circuits

  • Must be able to carry, push, pull 30 pounds with regularity during a shift.

  • Must be able to travel to other office locations.
