Summary

The Operations Business Analyst supports Milford's supply chain cross functional teams through a hybrid of technical knowledge and business process capabilities to meet business development production goals and measurement of customer service level requirements. This role works in conjunction with the Supply Chain ERP system and supports tactical business initiatives and projects within the planning team. The Business Analyst helps support the Site Supply Chain through workflow processes and data analysis in support of the Planning and Operations group. This role facilitates data-driven changes to the ERP and Change Control systems for coordination with the Planning and Operation groups. The Business Analyst works direct with ERP and the sites Electronic Document and Data Management system (SmartSolve) to administer, update and manage the Change Control system for the Site Supply Chain. This role works closely with Finance and IT with a strong understanding of reporting for key performance indicators such as inventory management control and Product Lifecycle Management.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support daily maintenance and upkeep of AX Dynamics. Milford Site point person for Change Control AX related queries.

    • Maintain customer service levels and requests for tactical functioning requirements and analysis.
    • Execute business workflow processes and work in conjunction with Planning, Engineering and Operations, anticipating requirements and helping develop areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
    • Support the Product Control and Change Order processes
    • Perform Risk Analysis Activities
    • Understand and execute SOPs and Work Instructions
    • Develop and Write SOPs and Work Instructions for AX functioning.
    • Work independently as well as within the context of a team
    • Assist with helping drive better user understanding of the systems, data, and processes.
    • Participate in delivering ad hoc training that includes master data management and system parameter set-ups.
    • Assist Planners with monitoring MRP and overall systems health.
    • Identify and report on exception errors and discrepancies with Planning and Operations personnel.
    • Perform routine product segmentation analysis updates

  • Milford Planning Liaison

    • Involvement with the Site PDS Process for new item set-up's as well as updates to existing BOM's/Item Masters.
    • Support Phase In/Phase Out Management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities.

  • Special Projects:

    • Point person for Product Discontinuation and Expiry and Obsolescence Management.
    • Collaboration with Site Procurement Buyers, Production Planners and Schedulers at the Milford Site.

  • Support sister-sites as a cross-functional supply chain project representative for the Milford site as needed.
  • Performing detailed requirements analysis, documenting processes, and involvement with user acceptance testing.
  • Provide training and reporting assistance to non-technical users.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience


  • Bachelor's degree preferred and preferably in supply chain, operations and engineering associated disciplines or equivalent business experience.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of supply chain relevant experience with Manufacturing, ERP systems and Electronic Data & Document Management systems in a healthcare/ pharmaceutical industry.

  • This position requires both hard skills and soft skills. The Business analyst needs to know how to perform analysis's with data mining to pull and report data and share information with users. An ERP background with an Operations concentration is preferred with an understanding of how systems, products, and tools work.

  • Must be capable of reading and understanding drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications


  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment with minimal supervision.
