Job Description:

As a Psychiatric Technician, you will work within an interdisciplinary team including Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Child and Family Therapists, Registered Nurses, and others to provide direct care and support to the children and adolescents experiencing an acute psychiatric episode. Essential Duties

  • Ensures client's personal safety.
  • Consistently fulfills the duties of a mandatory abuse reporter.
  • Responds to potential health concerns per agency policy.
  • Obtains appropriate authorization for special procedures.
  • Provides clients with basic needs: adequate food, clean clothing, and assistance in areas of hygiene when needed.
  • Consults treatment plan to implement appropriate care for developmental needs.
  • Teaches social skills and provides appropriate opportunities for socialization.
  • Facilitates educational groups for clients.
  • Facilitates therapeutic skills groups for clients.
  • Conducts evaluations and assessments of clients.
  • Responsible for filing documentation in client's charts.
  • Responsible for conducting safety checks of the clients.
  • Responsible for laundering the linens.

  • Meet requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA) by having the following credentials: a bachelor's degree in a social services or related field (e.g. human services, social services, behavioral science, social science, etc.); or, have 3 years of experience in a mental health setting

  • Ability to respond effectively to critical situations
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs.
