The Internal Communications Specialist will report to the Program Manager, Internal Communications, and will support the development and execution of integrated programs and deliverables to help Plantronics employees achieve business goals. This person will have demonstrated internal communications experience in a preferably global business environment, client or agency side, working across teams and with all levels of employees and management.
Strong writing, copywriting and storytelling skills are required, along with the ability to efficiently work on multiple projects simultaneously. This person will help manage the editorial content and execution of the news section for the company intranet (Wave) and maintain a variety of Wave communication sites. The person in this role will also help analyze survey data and develop executive-level survey presentations. Candidates should be comfortable working across multiple media and channels (email, intranets, social networks, large employee meetings, executive and other presentations) to amplify key messages and drive employee engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent writing skills (please be prepared to provide samples)
- Ability to assess/understand varied audience needs and points of view
- Able to capture and write in stakeholder "voice", and varied tones
- Ability to make technical information clear and easy to understand through storytelling
- Ability to write with accuracy and speed
- +2 years of internal communications/project management experience within a corporate/business environment
- +1 years in an internal communications role at an agency, business or media outlet/news reporting
- Background working as a journalist or other editorial position desirable
- Experience writing for technology firms, clients or publications desirable
- Experience deploying and leveraging:
- Publishing platforms, i.e. SharePoint
- Survey platforms, i.e. SurveyMonkey
- Digital and video tools
- Social media platforms
- Marketing automation software a plus, i.e. Marketo
- BA/BS in communications, business, marketing-related field or liberal arts, i.e. English
