Role Overview

The purpose of this position is to perform various Engineering activities to support the manufacturing needs of the department/division. This will be accomplished through continuous improvement activities, implementation and documentation of manufacturing processes, to devise engineering solutions to assembly problems, and to help introduce new products and processes.

KeyResponsibilities

  Determine from engineering data what part drawings and operations are necessary to manufacture complex medical device, plan the sequence of operations, estimate the time required for each, and write operation sheets.

  Oversee implementation of new or improved manufacturing methods, standards, testing, procedures, tools, and equipment designs to improve operating performance, reduce waste and delays, and achieve the most economic manufacture of products.

  Train assembly and finishing personnel as required

  Investigate and implement possible labor and or component cost reductions.

  
  


• 
  

  Investigate outside process, cost and quality requirements for our products.

  
  


• 
  

  Identify, develop and implement assembly tooling, jigs and fixtures as required.

  
  


• 
  

  Must be capable of managing multiple projects, tracking progress and reporting status to management on a regular basis.

  
  


• 
  

  Evaluate changes in products per organizational risk management practices to ensure effective, safe and compliant devices are released to the market in accordance with current state and federal standards.

  
  

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with five years experience dealing with the manufacture of machined parts, CNC equipment and the assembly of intricate medical instruments.


• Organized self-starter.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Knowledge of GMP's, ISO & Lean manufacturing.


• Experience working with computer based operation systems such as SAP or ORACLE


• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel Microsoft Project and Power Point,


• Knowledge of CNC programming, chip cutting equipment, laser cutting/welding and ability to operate machine shop equipment a plus.
