IRCameras is currently recruiting for the position of Camera Technician. The Camera Technician will be responsible for the electro-mechanical assembly and testing of IR cameras and dewars, in accordance with engineering documentation: assembly drawings, schematics, travelers, processes and procedures.


IRCameras is a full service provider of high performance, customizable infrared imaging systems and Integrated Dewar Cooler Assemblies (IDCAs). Whether the end system will be used for a scientific, industrial or military application, IRCameras is positioned to meet the most demanding thermal imaging needs. We offer a wide selection of standard and custom Short Wave Infrared (SWIR), Mid Wave Infrared (MWIR) and Long Wave Infrared (LWIR) cameras, as well as an extensive line of custom packaged IDCAs.


Responsibilities -- IRC Camera Technician



  • Responsible for building and basic troubleshooting of IDCA and camera assemblies

  • Responsible for executing verification and acceptance testing for IDCA and camera assemblies

  • Follows company Quality Management System (QMS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the build and documentation of production products

  • Writes, revises and releases manufacturing assembly instructions or procedures as needed

  • Works closely and collaboratively with the company's QA, Engineering, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Operations personnel to achieve production objectives

  • Identify and/or support Continuous Process Improvement initiatives

  • Position will primarily work independently with minimal supervision and makes independent decisions, yet uses judgment to ensure course-of-action is properly aligned with senior management goals

  • Ultrasonic Cleaning of metal parts and ceramic components, mechanical part and sub-assembly measurement and inspection

  • Operation of precision alignment microscopes

  • Perform some of these assembly and test operations under a clean hood or in a clean room

  • Support camera build and camera test activity as needed

  • Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager




Requirements -- IR Camera Technician



  • AA or 5 years equivalent experience

  • Excellent trouble-shooting capability and analytical skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is desired

  • Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to work full-time
