We partner closely with data warehouse & data engineering, business, and enterprise analytics teams to answer key questions related to consumer centric health information. Our work requires regular collaboration with our partner teams as well as technical expertise to mine big datasets and discover key insights.
Support, provide analytics, and manage delivery of projects working directly with the off shore development team, Data Warehouse team and business teams. Candidate must have the ability to work in fast paced technical environment with solid understanding of health care data.

Key responsibilities

• Support the maintenance & enhancement and production support of a data analytics and reporting platform that provides reports for financial settlements and contracts negotiations.


• Use business requirements to create technical design documents, development plans, and work breakdown activities for developers


• Manage development and delivery of data/ reports to new consumer centric health informatics applications.


• Develop data specific artifacts to support simplified navigation of healthcare environment.


• Lead efforts to create and deliver data/information which is personalized to each member and anticipates needs.


• Develop data sources which support the creation of member centric "recommendations" for informatics applications.


• Lead cross-divisional project teams in the implementation of data driven projects for consumers, providers and accounts.


• Provide data delivery expertise to our customers.


• Provide support for operational reporting of data warehouse metrics.


• Lead teams to identify, recommend, and implement system enhancements to the data warehousing environment and related BCBSMA systems to improve customer satisfaction and BCBSMA processing efficiencies.


• Act as liaison with other business areas to assist them in the data definitions required for successful project implementation.


• Foster an environment of openness, trust, and acceptance in dealing with all BCBSMA associates, leaders, and customers (internal and external).


• Possess excellent analytical, problem resolution, and risk management skills


• Manage development of enterprise analytics applications supporting financial, clinical and operational reporting areas.


• Support delivery and design of state mandated health care data requests

Education/Relevant Experience:

• Minimum 10+ years in the area of Data Analysis & Business Intelligence(preferably healthcare)


• Minimum 7+ years of experience with health care data.


• Minimum 5+ years using Business Intelligence software (preferably Cognos or SAS or Tableau)


• Minimum 5+ years of writing/understanding SQL


• Experience in data design and modeling skills with a concentration on practical implementation/application


• Experience working on Agile projects and Scrum knowledge


• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms a plus


• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science/Other related technical area or bachelor's degree in non-technical field with at least 5 years data related experience
