Project Accountant at Gensler in Boston, Massachusetts

Your Role

As a GenslerProject Accountant, you will be responsible for financial account management and analysis for the firm's projects and business practices. You will be successful because you are highly organized and passionate about ensuring the fiscal health of assigned projects throughout the entire project life cycle, from project due diligence through client invoicing and collections. Join a team of highly creative, collaborative colleagues and partner with Genslerproject managers to ensure our projects are not only beautiful, but financially sound.

What You Will Do


  • Work closely withProject Managers to ensure accurate client invoicing at the project and studio level; assisting with collection efforts when needed

  • Coordinate consultant invoicing and expense payments in accordance with contract

  • Monitor, track, and analyze project costs in relation to budget.Review labor and expense charges for accuracy in relation to contract terms

  • Maintain organized project contract files

  • Financial and accounting liaison between the project, studio, and local/corporate accounting teams

  • Provide input to leadership on project management best practices and train project managers on internal systems and procedures

Your Qualifications


  • 3+years of experience in accounting/finance (A/E or PSF industry experience required)

  • Generalknowledge of software systems, including Deltek Vision/Advantage/CostPoint and Excel (strongly preferred)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage different personality types

  • Works well in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Must demonstrate a high level of accuracy and consistent work performance
