Project Controls and Quantity Survey teams must also deliver elements of value engineering, change management, valuation, budgets and reporting. And that these often occur in more than one language. Thus our methodology is to apply a combination of local expertise with support from Hill's teams across the globe to deliver predictable outcomes for our Clients.
Review and participate with the design services team and general contractor, in the development of the cost estimates.
Estimate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
Provide estimate and cost planning including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
Reconcile changes and assist the general contractor to ensure that their data is accurate.
Negotiate change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
Inform and drive engineering decisions and priorities based on cost and schedule impact.
Resolve scheduling issues.
Manage cost checks and valuations.
Prepare and complete timely, accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes.
Manage Cost impact / contingency management and commitment tracking logs.
Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders.
Communicate and meet with contractors and owner project manager to gather status information and prepare cost estimate updates.
Prepare written comments to the general contractor's submissions.
Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions.
Review contractor pricing and lead negotiations on behalf of the client to drive favorable contract prices.
Develop cost plans and estimates through the design phase.
Perform quantity surveying, cost controls and change management activities.
Provide commercial input to design and input into value engineering exercises.
Manage cost variances, the change control process, cost auditing and work in place for cost validation.
Produce cost reports for presentation to the client.
Negotiate final accounts in a timely manner.
Compile as-built cost estimate records for cost benchmarking.
Experience working in a construction cost management related role on mission critical, data center, industrial, commercial or relatable large-scale construction projects.
Experience leading cost management on medium or large sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
College and/or post-graduate degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering or field related to construction.
Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management and value engineering.
Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
Solid technical experience in all cost management areas; estimating, contract, and settlement.
