The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sales activity related to accounts within a specified region. This role will manage assigned accounts as well as the responsibility of identifying and growing new business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will partner with internal and external resources to drive profitable growth of joint accounts.

Responsibilities
New Business Development, Core Sales, and Account Management
Develop a new business pipeline by researching, developing, and leveraging Regional / National partnerships
Identify key decision makers within target Customers and build strong relationships via transfer of market knowledge and ability of products & services to enable the Consumer strategy
Strategically develop and present new sales opportunities that speak to the needs and concerns of the Customers' objectives
Develop and recommend product pricing strategies, solution oriented service strategies, and innovation offers that differentiate the Customer offer
Manage sales objections by clarifying and emphasizing the value of the product offer, while working through differences to a positive conclusion
Demonstrate and leverage expert knowledge of Customer's current needs and business processes to advocate internally on behalf of the Customer to better service and enhance the existing relationship
Work collaboratively with engineering, product development, supply chain & operations, and other internal colleagues to ensure the Customer's needs and objectives are being fulfilled in the planning and execution stages of product commercialization
Support Business Development Director with P&L responsibility
Responsible for inventory management
Responsible for account management responsiveness - day to day operations/management of assigned account(s)
Partner with Business Development Director to identify new revenue streams, projects and products to drive growth within assigned account(s)
Partner with Account Director to maintain competitive insights within assigned account(s)
Assist with the management of retail, online, reseller and vertical channel strategies; executes on these strategies
Support Business Development Director in contract and program management
Provide accounts payable management support
Market Development and Marketing
Attend market specific industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and participate to provide information on market and creative trends that would add value to the Consumer offer
Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends, with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels
Identify opportunities for promotional campaigns, unique services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales revenue
Using knowledge of the Customer, the market, and competitors, identify and develop product specific, unique selling propositions and differentiators
Work with Marketing to ensure pilot programs, field based channel promotions, or other special programs meet the needs of our Customer offers in a timely manner
Work with brand and product marketing to develop and execute strategy for placement
Responsible for seasonal planning and execution
Responsible for events planning with internal teams/shopper/channel marketing
Operational Management, Forecasting and Planning
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Product Development, Supply Chain/Operations, and other internal colleagues to ensure the Customers' needs and objectives are being fulfilled in the planning and execution stages of product commercialization
Utilize the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to build a sustainable business activity plan with regular progress updates and ensure data is streamlined to measure the sales management process
Collaborate with Supply Chain/Operations to lead regular planning meetings that aligns on Customer's operational and delivery metrics, opportunities to enhance performance, and identify methodology to deliver a consistent customer service experience
Though IBP, align and lead product demand planning efforts for each product series, ensuring appropriate lead-times that optimize our supply planning
Drive new product placement when appropriate to assigned accounts
Manage forecasting/demand planning inputs with team (with team support/standalone)
Manage seasonal planning and NPI/NSI replenishment forecast planning
Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment
Other duties as required
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required. Experience in lieu of degree may be accepted
Minimum four years of sales experience required. Experience with business development preferred
Valid driver's license required
