The Commodity Manager is responsible for managing procurement activities, vendors, contracts and synergies for the commodity set MROSS (Maintenance, Repair, Operating Supplies, and Services) for manufacturing sites in North America. Also may provide project and/or category leadership for equipment and capital project execution.
Job Description:
The Commodity Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of procurement plans and strategies for the assigned indirect, services and capital/project material and services
Build and maintain internal relationships with Site Managers, Maintenance managers, Operational managers in order to understand and support their purchasing requirements
Build strong, value-adding relationships with suppliers
Negotiate contracts to meet business requirements and meet the quality and cost objectives
Ensure timely negotiation of all agreements, including execution of commodity contracts, a delegation of authority review, completion of executive summary and productivity summaries
Optimize sourcing strategies by working with our global teams and suppliers to standardize equipment and services where applicable
Leverage global supply capability to best meet the Business needs
Support Technology on new product development and new source qualification programs
Develop and implement strategies to optimize cash flow aspects of assigned commodities
Perform vendor selection, contract negotiation and implementation through the strategic sourcing process. Upon implementation, actively manage vendor contracts and pro-actively identify areas for improvement, services issues or other topics to address
Ensure local procurement activities are in line with standard procurement processes and procedures
Identify opportunities for synergies across all Momentive sites and implement maximizing cost benefits for all plants impacted
Responsible for the negotiation of Indirect goods and services contracts with an annual spend of $30-$40MM.

Minimum Qualifications
BS/BA degree and minimum of 5 years procurement experience or extensive procurement experience without a degree
Good commercial skills
Skilled negotiator

Good interpersonal skills able to separate emotional and functional aspects
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization (up, down, laterally)
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
Strong project leadership driving procurement strategies through implementation into plants
Preferred Qualifications
MBA
Working knowledge of MRO materials, industrial supplies required for the Chemical Industry
SixSigma / LEAN certification
Professional certifications (CPSM, CPIM, etc.)
