Responsible for quality assurance/control duties in the packaging area: monitoring multiple quality and accuracy attributes on running lines to specification, communicating out of specification situations, documentation and quality control as needed. Also responsible for operations, when assigned, of DUD detectors and spoilage research associated with such.
Principle Accountabilities
Monitoring quality and accuracy attributes in the Packaging area on work in process and finished good for all label lines in operation.
Move from line to line in a scheduled fashion, observing, collecting samples, and inspecting to specification all primary and secondary packaging.
Insuring that all shop order instructions are being followed.
Responsible for the set up, when assigned, and operation of each dud detector. Operates a regular schedule of inspection of parameters and rejects to insure accurate and efficient operations. Communication of results on various reports and to management. Problem solving as needed. Sanitation of the machinery and areas.
Researches spoilage events, documenting or communicating as necessary.
Documentation of all QA Packaging historical records.
Communication, Decision Making, and Corrective Action for out of Specification Situations as required.
Able to do Projects, QA Lab Testing, Paste Testing, Purchased Product, or other assignments as time permits.
Responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for specified Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.
Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience
High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
Should have working knowledge of QA/Lab operations or be trainable.
Must demonstrate ability to be observant, detail-oriented, and team player.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL is a REQUIRED attribute.
Must have good communication skills both written and verbal.
Any Computer skills benefit.
