Job Description:

Arcadis is looking for a Business Process Engineer to join our team in New York City.

The Opportunity:

The Business Process Engineer (BPE) will apply process improvement and reengineering methodologies and principles to conduct process modernization projects across the organization. The BPE is responsible for effective transitioning of existing teams and responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities, redesigning processes (e.g., lean improvements), establishing organization support, and supporting the development of the target operating model.

Core Responsibilities Includes:


  • Own project management processes and policies and lead the implementation of system improvements.

  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and collaboration within projects and ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction.

  • Plan and allocate assigned project work to ensure timely delivery and effective utilization of resources.

  • Direct, define and lead the development and continuous improvement of project-wide processes, systems, and policies, and contribute to wider organizational initiatives to improve performance.

  • Own the business process reengineering workstream.

Workstream Responsibilities Will Include (but not be limited to):


  • Plan and implement initiatives with a focus on process validation, process renovation, operational efficiency, and the associated controls to improve quality, reduce cost, and increase productivity resulting in significant business improvement and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Facilitate working groups to develop requirements and drive process change using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, business analysis.

  • Analyze current process standards and metrics to provide solutions for improvements.

  • Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to develop process improvement requirements, appropriate recommendations, and implementation plan, including performing data gathering, root cause analysis and performance trending to develop appropriate process control changes.

  • Lead workshops, meetings and discussions to develop and maintain a strategic program roadmap, priorities, project plans and milestones by workstreams.

  • Ensure key risks and issues are identified, documented, mitigated, and communicated to the appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Provide status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives.

  • Act as a liaison and primary communication channel between appropriate domain SMEs, Risk Technology on requirements, prioritization, and execution.


Key Attributes:

  • Proven track record in change management, process improvement, technology, and business transformation.

  • Experience with various transformation methodologies, Lean Six sigma, Sigma, etc.

  • Previous extensive experience in transformation, risk management, compliance, audit, or consulting.

  • Experience managing business relationships at executive level.

  • Experience leading and implementing complex business change solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to absorb complex concepts and support development of actionable, achievable, and measurable improvements.

  • Experience of working in a global environment, working across cultures and matrix organization structures.

  • Demonstrated ability to build, maintain and navigate the organization using formal / informal networking skills.

  • Experience in supporting management of senior stakeholder requirements / design sessions.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide strong analytical and communication support for work efforts to meet objectives effectively and efficiently.

  • Expert communication skills

  • Expert level skills in Excel

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline

  • 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years' experience managing complex projects.
