Manage orders within the WMS and releasing them based on priority, staff capacity, and customer request, while providing status updates related shipments.

Your Role

Manage orders within the WMS and releasing them based on priority, staff capacity, and customer request, while providing status updates related shipments.

Your Responsibilities

• Consolidate TL and LTL orders by carrier, request ship date, customer, within the WMS order queue.


• Release orders from the WMS by order type, customer, ship date, and carrier method while working with the Dept. supervisor on capacity.


• Work as the liaison between Kuehne-Nagel outbound operations the client's carrier coordinator ensuring waved orders and pickup timelines are in line with processed shipments daily.


• Ensure Sm Parcel orders are batched, by carrier, and priority ship method, throughout the day ensuring the bulk wave capacity meets picking efficiencies.


• Maintain various report throughout the day that list workflow and order tracking information.


• Schedule LTL carriers when required.


• Perform ship confirm process as carrier pickups occur.


• Compile and communicate in writing status updates to Ops Mgr. (3) times daily.


• Work with the customer thru written communication when requests or questions arise related to outbound order statuses.


• Perform order cancellation process and track when required.


• Extrapolate and record productivity related information on required boards every 2hrs.


• Ensure 5S practices are sustained in work area.


• Able to perform other functions as assigned

Your Skills and Experiences

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• 1 - 3 yrs. experience in distribution, scheduling, or transportation fields


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word


• Strong organization and time management skill


• Able to work independently with limited supervision.


• Knowledge of basic Lean Sigma practices welcomed.
