Kforce has a client that is seeking a Database Security Engineer in Bethesda, MD.
Essential Duties:
Enrich database events with data from disparate systems by leveraging APIs, or other data exchange technologies
Automate existing processes leveraging technologies such as Python, Chef, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.
Applies knowledge of industry (PCI-DSS, GDPR, US Privacy) regulations to coordinate and analyze compliance with regulations, and completes database security related assurance projects
Monitors and maintains the hardware, and software to support the database activity monitoring solutions and other database security services
Ensures the overall health of the system is kept up to date including but not limited to patching, updating and configuring and maintaining the system
Completes security scans including database vulnerability tests, data classification, user rights and other scans and reports to support the management of the database security across the enterprise
Provides information to management and / or the CIRT regarding confidential investigations and forensic evidence gathering via the database security solution
Works with systems or applications teams to understand compliance requirements
Provides advice on tuning the solutions or providing additional solutions for the database security space
Analyzes emerging technology trends with security vendors and subject matter experts
Reviews ongoing and proposed Database projects with focus on Security to identify opportunities for process improvement
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field or equivalent experience/certification
7+ years of information technology experience
Working experience with Linux based operating systems and the command line interface
Knowledge of data encryption standards as well as key management
4+ years of experience in database security including in one or more of the following:
Implementing, managing or governing database security technologies
Knowledge of database security scans, including database vulnerability tests, data classification, user rights and other scans and reports to support the management of the database security across the enterprise
Have experience in or knowledge of management, security policies, vulnerability assessment, profiling, compliance, reporting for database environments
