IT Infrastructure Engineer at Shionogi Inc. in Florham Park, New Jersey

Job Description:

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is primarily a hands-on role that will design, build, implement, operate, maintain, and provide support for applications and network components running on our infrastructure. Will work individually and as a team member in troubleshooting the health and performance of our enterprise-wide applications and infrastructure.


The IT Infrastructure Engineer will also participate in technical research and development for the continuation of innovation within the infrastructure. Will also document specifications, project plans, configurations, test plans and results, operational procedures.


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Works independently at a high level on all technical support, delivery, operations and engineering.

  • Provides centralized systems operational support, administration, installation and maintenance of complex enterprise-wide networks (Data, Video, LANs, WANs, SANs).

  • Installs, configures and operates Windows server software and hardware.

  • Monitors the network to ensure proper functioning of hardware and software.

  • Identifies and resolves complex server problems utilizing structured troubleshooting methods, techniques and tools.

  • Coordinates rollouts and upgrades of hardware/software/telecommunications.

  • Collaborates with vendors and carriers during problem analysis/resolution as required.

  • Prepares and maintains documents according to Shionogi standards and GxP and/or J-SOX regulations. This includes but not limited to, technical specifications, network diagrams, system documentations, operating manuals, testing documents, and operation records.

  • Maintains and operates system monitoring.

  • Organizes software licenses and propose proper plans to maintain/renew.

  • Supports MS Office 365 including: Azure AD, Exchange Online Hybrid, SharePoint, Teams, Compliance Center and others.

  • Maintains Data warehouse operations and MS SQL administrative tasks.

  • Monitors and maintains server backup schedules and performs annual testing of system restore operations and DR scenarios.

REQUIREMENTS



  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.

  • Requires at least one of the following certifications: MCP, MCAS, MCSA, MCSE, MCITP

  • Understand ITIL concepts and follow the methodology.

  • 5-7 years of overall professional experience.

  • Proven competency with the following technologies:

  • General WAN/LAN technologies (Cisco, Palo Alto, Symantec)

  • Mobile device management (MobileIron)

  • Mobile device (iOS)

  • Service (MS Office 365, and other SaaS)

  • Server (MS Windows server 2008 R2 and higher)

  • Backup and recovery systems (MS DPM, Veeam, Zerto)

  • Email (MS Exchange, Symantec Enterprise Vault, Secure Email gateway)

  • Centralized operations (MS SCCM, SCOM, WSUS)

  • Directory service (MS Active Directory)

  • Virtualization (VMWare, Horizon, Citrix)

  • SAN technology including remote sync for DR (HP Nimble, Zerto)

  • Phone and Voicemail systems (Cisco CUCM, Unity)

  • Fax system (RightFax)

  • Web site hosting/domain/SSL maintenance

  • Security (network perimeter, endpoint, access privileges (Security Group and GPO))

  • Ability to author communications and system documentation independently.

  • Proven record of quality, compliance and delivery.

  • Project management experience.

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in effectively communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • Self-starter, problem solver, self-motivated.

  • Team-oriented, but also able to work independently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • IT experience in pharmaceutical or other FDA-regulated industry desired.

  • Experience working in a global organization is preferred.

  • Interest in Japanese culture or bilingual skills is not required, but helpful.

  • Must live a commutable distance to our offices in Florham Park, New Jersey.
