GENERAL SUMMARY:
Support research activities in the laboratory while developing progressive skills and working towards independence under supervision of the Principal Investigator, Laboratory Manager, and other investigators within the laboratory.
Manage research resources and conduct a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies according to laboratory, departmental, and institutional policies and procedures.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist lab members with experiments, including those using mice.
Maintain basic records of methodologies and test results in a log of work performed.
With graded independence based on skills, perform basic research experiments following established laboratory protocols.
Discuss and prepare weekly written reports of progress for supervisor review.
Assists with the analysis of experimental data using basic statistical methods.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as directed.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program or higher in biology, biochemistry, premedical studies, or similar disciplines
Some math, statistics, and/or programming background or course work could be helpful.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Possesses high degree of responsibility
Is detail-oriented and has outstanding organizational skills
Must be able to work with mice (training available)
Capable of forming routine assays and prioritizing tasks
Excellence in interpersonal interactions, communications, and professionalism
